Suitable for:

This course is for people who have started to work with a Lamh user. It covers 100 Lamh signs and how to support a Lamh user.

Run by: CATTS Lamh Tutor Certified Speech & Language Therapist, Marijke Morris.

Qualifications Required:  No previous Lamh training required.

Course Breakdown:  

• 3.5 hours self online learning (You have 2 weeks to complete it before your signing workshop date).
• Either 1 x 3.5 hour online live signing workshop, or 2 x 2.5 hour online live workshops.

By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

Use the 100+ signs from the Module One Book

Use Lamh as an effective communication tool

Contribute to assessment or decision-making around Lamh use

Participate effectively in an established Lamh environment.

We offer 3 packages based on feedback from Lamh attendees over the years on what follow on information they often needed.

Option 1: Lamh Module 1 Online Only  €90

This gives you access to the Lamh Module 1 Online course and certification only.

Option 2: Communication Pack €120
This gives you access to the Lamh Module 1 Online course and certification plus selected companion online on demand training worth €100 from CATTS Online Training.
The extra courses have been selected based on what previous Lamh attendees with us have said they would need support on. The courses are:
Creating, Teaching and Using Visuals (worth €35)
Practical Techniques to help a child’s communication (worth €35)
AAC101 (worth €30)

Option 3: SNA/Teacher/Carer package € 140
This gives you access to the Lamh Module 1 Online course and certification plus full access to our All Access Pack (which is all online courses on this website) for 1 year for 1 person, worth €120. With a year’s license you can take all our Special Needs video on demand courses whenever you wish within 365 days after completing your Lamh Module One.

(This option is also open to parents if they wish, however SNAs and Teachers usually have to know about a wider variety of Special Needs which is why it is named this way. – Joe)

As Lamh Online works a bit differently to the in-person course, please read the steps below.

Step ONE:
Pick and Choose the date of your Live Signing Group from the options.
This will be the date that you will need to be free to attend the Live signing class that will take place virtually.

We are limited to 6 places per class, and due to the requirements for the self – learning module beforehand, we cannot change or swap individuals prior to the virtual class. Like if you book a ticket for a concert or show, if you can’t subsequently make it on the day, you don’t complete the pre-class online work, or you forget to attend – unfortunately we cannot reimburse.

(If you upgrade to our Communication Pack, or SNA/Teacher Pack, and you cannot attend the Lamh portion, you will still get access to the OnDemand video courses once the Signing Class date has passed.)

Step TWO:
The self learning module of the training is about 3 hours long, and it needs to be completed in advance by participants. You will have 2 weeks to complete the module. You will be emailed once the online learning portion of the Lamh training is available to you.

This is outside our control as all names and emails need to be sent to Lamh directly so they can register them on the online learning portal.

If you cannot complete the online learning portion in time, Lamh does not allow us to accept you into the Live Signing Class.

Step THREE:
Once you have completed the online learning portion, you’ll get the secure Zoom link for your signing class which will take place online at the scheduled time you chose.  Please try and have a quiet location so you can concentrate on the workshop.

After the workshop, you will be posted your Lamh Module One Handbook and you can download your certificate.

If you have opted to upgrade to our Communication Pack, or SNA/Teacher Pack, your license to these courses will be activated.
We will use the same email you registered with for Lamh by default. If you would prefer to have us use a personal email address instead for you instead of a work one, please contact us, and Joe will arrange it for you.

Booking Terms and Conditions

All payments must be made at time of booking. Failure to attend a reserved course will not entitle a participant to a refund or a transfer. Unfortunately, due to the requirement to complete the online learning module in advance, and the time needed for loading classes to the Lamh systems, we cannot reschedule participants signing workshops ad-hoc.  Please make sure you are able to make the date you choose.

CATTS reserves the right to cancel a course at any time without liability. Should this occur, delegates will be given as much notice as possible and will be offered an alternative date, a different course, or a refund of the course fee. CATTS will not be responsible for reimbursing any out of pocket expenses from participants.
